Our fabulous first Grandson Ethan turned 10 today having his birthday lunch celebration choosing the Rainforest Cafe in the Downtown Disney area. It was a lot of fun! It had been a long time since we were there and once again enjoyed the trees, animals, butterflies, birds, fish and noises of the Rainforest. The selections were scrumptious with everyone getting exactly what they personally wanted. The little ones enjoyed all of the fish tanks while waiting for our table .. they even spotted Dory from Nemo swimming around in one of the tanks!
The big kids (including the adults) really liked the tanks too.

Ella found herself a Gorilla of a date ...
Our table was right in front of one of the large fish tanks which was enjoyable for the family ...
The Birthday Boy got a collectible Rainforest slurppie mug
And then for dessert the fabulous Chocolate Fudge Cake Volcano Sundae ..
We finished up with his 10th birthday gifts for a marvelous day ...
As it was Wednesday, we had Ruby with us as we look forward to having her every week. We went to Disneyland and California Adventures before meeting up with the Facey Six-Pack and parents. We took the Monorail into Disneyland; it was our first ride with Rubes on it. We decided to go over to California Adventures to do some things with Ruby that she had not done before. Our first stop was at the Disney Junior Theater. There are live puppet performances of the Mickey Mouse Playhouse Disney
Channel which we have now become familiar with on Ruby's visits! Her favorite is Princess Sofia the First and we knew she'd be one of the features at the theater ... she's even on the marque and has a display window of her own.
Sofia the First
The show is about preparing for Minnie Mouse's Birthday Party. Mickey, Donald, Daisey, and Goofy need some help with ideas and call on their pals from Sofia the First, Doc McStffins, and Jake & the Neverland Pirates (see what all of you have to look forward as you age-up like us!). The Fab Five start out the show ...
We sat on the floor of the theater with a couple hundred other youngsters and oldster (that would be me!) to enjoy the show for the 40 minutes or so. When Sofia came on, Ruby stood up to watch the rest of the show! She really enjoyed all of it and the interaction that takes place. There is snowfall, bubbles, and gold paper discs that float from the ceiling during different parts of the show ... oh, what a marvel for a two year old!

Then it was Minnie's Birthday Party !!!
Another first for Ruby was riding through Monsters Inc. She loves Mike, Sculley and Boo on the daybed in our computer room. It was a great ride that brought these characters to life for her.
