On our way to Chester, we drove through the beautiful Lake District. We had a fabulous mid-morning Tea overlooking one of the lakes. This is the area that so many authors have lived and written great stories and novels. One of the most favorites is Beatrix Potter. We can definitely see where she obtained her drawings ideas for the stories in this quaint area.
We reached our destination of Chester in early afternoon. Once again, Sandra had done a superb selection of hotels, booking us into the magnificent Mill Hotel & Spa (http://www.millhotel.com).
We enjoyed discovering the town with all it's uniqueness, walking next to the canal and seeing all of the houseboats that are tethered and their glorious flowers adoring each boat.
Chester is another city surrounded by a wall and we were able to take in those sights on our walk.
The Chester Cathedral and grounds are beautiful.
The Eastgate Clock is simply stunning in the City of Chester.
