2013 - September 30th - Crazy Horse Memorial

Our final stop of the day for the three of us was at the Crazy Horse Memorial site. This isn't what I expected, but it was truly amazing. It's not just the mountain sculpturing, but an entire complex. It was started in 1947 and only the face is completed. This is a private project with no Government money, so it is taking a long time. We truly wonder if it will be completed within our Great-Grandchildren's lifetime. Visit the link to find out a lot about this memorial. The highlight was being there in the early evening and staying until dark. There is a laser light show shown on the Crazy Horse Mountain Monument that is spectacular. It ends with the lights projecting the completed sculpture on the actual rock. If anyone ever goes, go around 5 PM and stay for this show! All three of us really enjoyed the entire experience.
