2014 - November 3rd - Ruby's 4th Birthday Princess Makeover at Disneyland's Bibbidi-Bobbidi-Boutique

Given the choice of a Birthday Party or a Princess makeover, Ruby picked to be a Princess for her 4th Birthday. Disneyland's Bibbidi-Bobbidi-Boutique offers a complete Princess makeover for the young Princesses who visit the park. Ruby's appointment was for 11:40 on Monday the 3rd. Mom, Dad and the Grandparents spent a wonderful day at Disneyland with Ruby. The Boutique has all of the Disney Princess gowns and accessories to choose from. After check-in, one of the Fairy Godmothers takes the Princess on a shopping spree to choose her choice of a gown. For weeks, Ruby had said she was picking Rapunzel from Tangled (she loves the purple dress!), but the week prior started to talk about choosing Anna from Frozen with her Inauguration Ball Gown. Sure enough, she picked Anna's Inauguration gown. The Fairy Godmother takes the gown and Ruby to the fabulous dressing room to try on the gown and make sure it fits correctly and that she is happy with her selection. Ruby just beamed as she admired herself in the mirror! The next choice was the hair style preferred. She chose the long hair extensions which is quite a change from Ruby's tradition of short hair cuts. Then the transformation begins. The hair gel must be what the movie studio and stage productions use, as her Fairy Godmother was able to pull Ruby's short hair into a bun on top of her head with all the sides staying up and not moving the entire day. The bun allowed the base for the hair extension to be anchored. With one Fairy Godmother working on the hair, a second began with the nail polish application. As Ruby kept her fingers spread to dry the polish, the makeup began to be put on. There was eye shadow, lipstick and some facial highlights with a jewel face applique placed high on her cheek. When everything was completed, the hair was sprayed and her Fairy Godmother sprinkled the glitter fairy dust over her hair. The staff really does treat these girls as Princesses! The combs, brushes, eye makeup, lipstick, jewels and everything else used is given to the Princess in her own pink bag/backpack to take home for Mom to use on her at any time the urge needs to be met! She also is given her own personalized pink sash with "Princess Ruby" on it to wear for the day and to take home. Ruby didn't want her dress covered up at all, so the sash was placed in her bag/backpack. Princess Ruby was complete ... new hair, a lighted Princess Anna wand, her Princess Anna crown, gloves, purse, earrings, necklace and bracelet. She didn't want to wear the necklace or gloves today, so carried them in her purse all day; that purse was never out of her arm the entire day! Ruby glowed with happiness!

Then it's over to the Cinderella's carriage room at the back of the Bibbidi-Bobbidi-Boutique for the Princess Ruby photo shoot. There is a garden area with animal figurines and naturally Cinderella's coach. Many pictures are professionally taken and we are also allowed to take as many as we want.
Mommy & Daddy and Grandma & Papaw are so happy that Princess Ruby really is enjoying and having so much fun with her full Princess makeover ...

After the photo shoot, Princess Ruby is given her own personally escorted mini processional — where she is the star! — from the Bibbidi-Bobbidi-Boutique to the enchanting Fantasy Faire. The castle guards greet her with many well wishes, then she is taken into the Fantasy Faire castle to meet and greet three of the Disney Princesses: Cinderella, Snow White, and Ariel.

For the rest of the day, Ruby proudly walked around Disneyland as Princess Ruby visiting different sites and riding her favorite rides. Mom and Dad even talked her into riding the newly renovated Alice in Wonderland ride and talking her into trying once again the Pirates of the Caribbean! She did both and liked them! We stopped at the Frozen's "Kingdom of Arendelle" display to take some pictures of Princess Ruby as Princess Anna in that magical icy snow land ...

In late afternoon, Uncle Eric, Aunt Shirley and the six cousins came to enjoy Ruby's birthday too. We all rode many rides and enjoyed the park. At dinner, Ruby got her own mini-birthday cake in the Princess treasure chest box. She really wanted this since she and Papaw bought one for Grandma last month. It had been a long day with lots of activity, but Ruby was a trooper even though she must have been very tired as some of the pictures in the album show! These came out pretty good ...
The Bibbidi-Bobbidi-Boutique is really cute and fit for a Princess ... from the Fairy Godmother stain glass window entrance to the overhead displays, to the carved benches, magical mirror with bluebird pull-backs for the curtains, flowered lights, and much more.

Disney lived up to it's reputation of "Have A Magical Day" for one super happy four-year old. It was a day that will be remembered for many years and carried down in photo and blog histories. With all of the Facey family being there to share it with the newly crowned Princess Ruby, all we can say is it is "The Wonderful World of Disney".
