After our wonderful family week at Walt Disney World with adventures in all of the parks and the resort, we now begin our second adventure ... cruising aboard The Disney Dream Ship! What an incredible ship it is! We took our hour van ride from Orlando to Port Canaveral where we entered the Disney Cruise Line Terminal. Check-in was efficient and easy. Mickey and Minnie alternated greeting all of the passengers. We were photographed with Minnie ...
Eric, Shirley and the kids all had their family picture taken too ...

We were all happy to be onboard as shown in the faces of Kendall, Grandma and Mikayla
Once on-board The Disney Dream, we were free to explore the ship and all of it's offerings until our staterooms were ready and our luggage delivered.
Ruby, Evan and Ella were signed up by their parents to participate in the Kid's Oceaneer Club. We all went to see all of the fun and exciting adventures that awaited them when they would go to the club.
Ruby immediately started the hula-hoop thing on the colorful changing floor ...
There was a whole room to hang out and watch Disney movies, do arts and crafts, and play all sorts of games.
We have all heard the quote, "Dreams Really Do Come True". Well, that was no where more apparent of being true for Ed and Ruby than in the Oceaneer Club's Star Wars Millennium Falcon room! Ed could have spent a whole lot of time here. But, Ruby told her Dad that this was a kid's club for her, Evan, Ella and other kids and he could visit this once!

Other offerings included the Infinity Game room where the kids become one of the figurines inside of the life-size game. Andy's Room from the Toy Story movies brings all of those toys to life and plenty of play space. Any kid can just jump into the toy box and see what it's like to be Mr. Potatohead, Slinky the dog or one of the Monkeys from the Barrel!
There are also Princess, Fairy, Pirate and any other play things for all kinds of entertainment!
On Deck 11, the Welcome Aboard Party started with all of the characters greeting, performing, and entertaining. Not only were they live on stage, they were also shown on the mega screen TV so all could see no matter where you are.
Our balcony staterooms are gorgeous! The next day the room stewards found out that Ruby was in with Ed & Carrie and in Eric and Shirley's room were Evan and Ella. The girls beds were then made-up with Frozen's Elsa and Anna sheets and Evan's bed had The Good Dinosaur sheets from that night on! How special and detail driven is that!?!
In the pre-plan packet from The Disney Cruise Line, they suggest making magnets to decorate your stateroom door. I worked several fun-filled hours and days on the computer coming up with designs for our door. We were pretty pleased at how they turned out. We had no trouble recognizing our stateroom when approaching!

Ed, Carrie & Ruby surprised us with a beautiful "Hidden Mickey" floral arrangement (the roses form a Mickey head) and a scrumptious Very Chocolate Mickey Cake for an onboard cruising welcome. We had the flowers through our entire cruise and the additional 13 days at Pam's house in Orlando. The cake was so Disney-cute and really tasty too! We shared it one morning as a breakfast treat with all 13 of us!
So many things to see on The Disney Dream. These are just a few on this picture tour. Too many to take pictures of everything ... to see it all, schedule a cruise of your own!
Goofy's Mini Golf - Deck 13 ...
Goofy's Sport Deck and sights on Decks 12 and 13 including ... "Is That Donald????" and more ...
Pools, Waves Bar, Sun Deck and more ...
The art work, including live Orchids, around the Disney Dream is fabulous everywhere you look and go ...
Scattered throughout the ship are the amazing bars, The Pink Wine and Champagne Lounge, movie and performance theatres, the Art Deco elevators and Grand Foyer, the magnificent Grand Chandelier and stairway, even down to the amazing carpet designs and corridor port hole viewing windows ...

Great photo ops at those large Port Hole Windows ... whether in port or at sea!

And everyday each stateroom always had a different towel art piece on each bed. The room stewards were always on top of every detail!

I am posting four blogs to break down the size and make the albums and blogs more manageable. Look forward to 2, 3 and 4 shortly. Until then, good-night as we saw it ship-board!
