2017 - December 20th-24th - Utah: Eric, Shirley and the kids new home & surroundings

Jordan, Mikayla and Ethan had stayed with friends of the family in Murietta to finish out their school semesters since their folks moved the household to St. George Utah the weekend after Thanksgiving. We had them with us on the weekends and picked them up after exams on the 15th to stay until we all headed to their new home on the 20th. We had a lot of fun while they were here and squeezed in both "Star Wars: The Last Jedi" and "The Greatest Showman" at the theater. With some strategic packing and arranging, the car was loaded and we were off for our drive to St. George! We had a great day driving trip and arrived at 5:15 Utah time at 1579 N.Sonoran Drive, St. George ... the new Facey homestead! It is nested among the red rock hills and mountains of Utah. The neighborhood is about six years old and very lovely. Their home begins on the street level and then the downstairs bedrooms are at the bottom of the back hill of the property. Frosty and Mickey both greeted us with holiday cheer!
The view from their main level porch overlooks the backyard and the red rock hills. There are stunning views of the mountains in the front too. The neighborhood has it's own community center with centralized mailboxes, indoor and outdoor pools, work-out room, reception space with kitchen facilities and more. Walking the neighborhood shows many housing styles with small parks and stunning landscapes.
We visited the Tuacahn High School campus for the Performing Arts which is one of the most beautiful schools you could ever see. The campus is enormous and is decorated to the hilt for Christmas. Every night they do a living nativity in their open-air amphitheater which many venues must be extremely jealous of! The amphitheater is built using the red rock mountain as their backdrop ... simply stunning! The school also offers a little train ride around the property taking in the Christmas lights and landscape. The train was a whopping $2 and the Living Nativity was another $2. Expensive evening. What a fun family night out we all had. The campus is about five miles from their house.

And what's a Christmas display without Santa Clause???
We went back the next day just to stop at the round-abouts and take some pictures of the sculptures we had see the night before when it was too dark to really take in their beauty and take any pictures. The art work of St. George is really top-notch. And, St. George has many round-abouts on their streets, much like driving in jolly old England! And another round-about sculpture ...
With all of this beautiful land around us, we went on a couple explorations. Our first was The Red Cliffs Desert Reserve. All of these are within minutes and not far to get to. We loved climbing and exploring!

And we can't forget a family photo with a picture of Kendall on the iPhone! We also took in The Red Hills Desert Garden. It is really beautiful full of Cactus, succulents and other dessert plants. There were several Christmas lights throughout for the holidays too.

Another park that all of the kids enjoyed was the Dinosaur Park ... full of great activities and lots of room to run and have fun!

These are just some of the fabulous sights of St. George and the area that Eric and Shirley now call home. For the complete captioned photo album, click here.
