We were so happy that our complete family was in town and able to share in our 45th wedding anniversary celebration. We made reservations at the Five Crowns Restaurant in Newport Beach-Corona Del Mar. We had never been here before and thought this was the right time to experience this five-star restaurant, part of the Lawry's franchise. The Five Crowns is designed to emulate an age-old English country inn. This cozy enterprise whisks diners away from the bright, open spaces of California to tuck us into quaint rooms adorned with antiques, fireplaces, and charming accents. The menu is hearty and substantial, built around steaks and seafood. We indulged in thick-cut prime rib, lamb chops, butter-poached lobster tails, potato-crusted salmon and more. Great for us folks who appreciate Old World style!

We had a large room upstairs just for us … no other tables were seated while we were there. The Old World décor is like being taken back to England: cozy fireplace, beam ceilings, antique furnishing.

Everyone was delighted with their entrees and all of the appetizers that were enjoyed. The Grands tried appetizers like Beef Bone Marrow for Ethan, while others ranged from shrimp cocktails to pita chips with a upscale guacamole to Ella's stuffed potato croquettes topped with caviar just to name a few! These grandkids like to try new things! Lobster tail, lamb cops, prime rib, salmon and more were all great as entrees! Just too many unique and delicious foods to list or take pictures of … we just enjoyed!

And to top off the dinner, Carrie & Ed had a special 45th Wedding Anniversary cake made for us at Katella Deli Bakery and brought it to the Five Crowns for the staff to serve to everyone. Of course it wouldn't be a Facey Celebration without a little bit of Disney Magic such as a cake with Mickey & Minnie!!!
