2020 - October 17th & 19th - Huntington Beach and Roger's Gardens with Kendall & Jordan

The Utah grandkids had a school Fall holiday Friday through Monday, October 16th through 19th. With Eric's free flight benefits, the family flew over for these days to get in some California time! Kendall, Ella and Evan flew in on Thursday, Eric and Ethan on Friday and Shirley with Jordan on Sunday. With various work schedules, different arrivals work well!
When all had arrived, the consensus was to go to Huntington Beach. Kendall and Ella had told everyone about the Cotton Candy there that Mikayla had turned them on to. So our first stop was at The Polar Playground. You get a ticket to come back at an appointed time for the "artisan" to create your chosen character. There are several in the assortment. The two today were a Kirby from one of Evan's video game series and a Duck with a sailor hat for Kendall. They really are marvelous creations.
Then it was beach time! The family went to the water while Grandma and Papaw walked the Pier and took in the views. Then Grandma joined them all at the water.
Kendall and Jordan stayed and did their distance college classes Monday and Tuesday. Between classes and study we ventured down to Roger's Gardens in Corona Del Mar to see the new Christmas displays and the gardens too.
The bookroom is so much fun, all wallpapered in book pages and the great Book Arch ... just made for a perfect photo shot!!
Outdoors in the massive maze of courtyard displays is a two level train under one of the magnificent trees. The gentle breeze also moves the oversized wind chime that proudly hangs from one of the tree's branches.
The Christmas shop is set up with beautiful decorations and ornaments ... a buyer's delight! Anything from the Old-Time Nostalgic Bubble Light with Santa
... to all kinds of décor, decorations, trees and ornaments.
The display techniques are unique as shown with this bake shop rack with all kinds of baked goods that you might come across in a bakery!
Jordan loved the long jewels and crystals making up the hanging icicles.
In the courtyard was a bench to join with Santa for a photo.
Pumpkins, plants and all kinds of decorating items are abundant in the open outdoor area and surrounding buildings. These are a few of the favorites that the girls had fun with seeing. It was great to stroll through everything.
The special current display at this time is Roger's Gardens "A Pirate's Life For Me".
We explored all of the fun displays, tried on some pirate hats, both fancy and normal, and enjoyed all of the seasonal items for the Fall.

Lady's hats, Fancy Witch hat and pirate black scarf hat accompany the parrot, Kendall, Jordan, Grandma and Papaw!!!
Kendall loved this spooky cat
Pumpkins make the best "See No Evil, Hear No Evil, Speak No Evil"
And what a way to end the visit with a picture of all your absentee family
