2021 - March 25th - A Touch of Disney

With The Disneyland Resort being closed for over a year due to the Covid-19 Pandemic, with great anticipation we secured admission tickets for A Touch of Disney in the California Adventure Park. It was great to just walk all of those familiar areas of the park once again. We parked in the Mickey and Friends parking structure which has been closed for over 12 months. The parking attendants had us park every-other space for social distancing conforming to state Covid guidelines.
After being checked through security, we walked the roadway that usually the trams ride us down to Downtown Disney. Transportation today is your-own-feet! As we begin the walk, we are greeted with the giant billboard "Welcome" with "A Touch of Disney". The gate that we have passed on the tram ride so often over the years, which is now the back parameter of Star Wars Galaxy's Edge, has now a covering with the famous Disney character images of Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Donald, Daisy, and Goofy with the Disneyland Castle in hues of blues for the Touch of Disney celebration.
We entered through the California Adventures gates to begin our day of sights and food. No rides are yet permitted per the Covid pandemic guidelines.

Walking down Buena Vista Street brings back fond memories. We walked through all of the stores that line the street taking in the new merchandise that always is changing. The intersection of the lands is anchored with the Carthay Circle Restaurant. The marque today proclaims "Welcome To A Touch of Disney".
There were several photo opportunities set up for this event. We particularly liked this Tinkerbell showering pixie dust around us from the magical castle ... pure Disney enjoyment!
The Falcon and The Winter Soldier was being promoted in Hollywood Land where Mary Anne also took in the Marvel photo-opp!
The Hyperion Theatre also greeted us to A Touch Of Disney.
We made our way over to Pixar Pier which is always recognizable as getting close with a view of the Incredicoaster and the Pixar Pal-S-Round Ferris Wheel coming in sight!
Crossing the bridge into Pixar Pier, we stopped at the Adorable Snowman Frosted Treats to get a cup of Dole Whip ... our dessert before lunch! For this event Disney brought this specialty over from Disneyland. It was just a yummy as ever!
So many of the Pixar Pier rides are outdoors that even without riding them, we were immersed in the experience. We decided to have lunch at the Poultry Palace and sit at a table next to the World of Color Lake and enjoy the sunshine and breeze. Mary Anne had the three chicken legs with coleslaw lunch while Larry chose the gigantic turkey leg that has been missed for this past year!
We wandered over to the Midway Games on the pier and tried our hand at the WALL-E Space Race. It was close, but Larry beat Mary Anne by just a wee-bit!
We even saw Miguel from the Coco movie in one of the gazebos in Pixar Pier. Another great photo shot was set up with wings for making photo memories!
Over by Ariel's Grotto was a nice area of shells and fantasy.
We saw so much and enjoyed it all. Cars Land and Grizzly Peak also held special memories. The new Marvel's Avengers Campus is still shrouded in anticipation. Walls surround the building of this land which will have it's own opening ceremonies .. hopefully sometime in 2021. Our last stop was to get a churro at Buena Vista Street before leaving our adventurous day.
We had a magical, delicious and adventurous time at California Adventures at the Disneyland Resort. We took home a couple of wonderful Mickey Chocolate Chip Cookies to munch on as we reminisced the marvelous day that we had while we looked through our Touch of Disney brochure, admission tickets, meal cards and even the 65th anniversary button given at the game-playing on Pixar Pier.
