Carrie desiring to celebrate her new job starting next week thought what could be better than a trip to Disneyland and asked if we wanted to join them. Naturally it was a big YES for us! After the Covid absence of visiting the park for over a year an a half, it is wonderful to be going back if only for one day. We opened the park arriving shortly after eight in the morning. The trams from the parking garage are not yet in service so everyone walks the half-mile tram route to the Disneyland entrance. We took this selfie for the opening photo of the day!
Walking through the Disneyland Park gates and once again seeing the Mickey Garden and then walking under the train trestle and seeing the famous Disneyland greeting, we entered the park.

We stopped at the City Hall location to get a picture with Main Street behind us. We walked up the street and took some pictures in town center with the Walt and Mickey statue and Cinderella castle behind to start our day.

Ed, Carrie and Ruby wanted to visit Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge first, so we headed back to this newest land. Mary Anne and I had ridden The Millennium Falcon Smugglers Run ride once before the parks closed in 2020 for the pandemic. We all were excited to ride this piece of junk from the outer region of the galaxy! The waiting line is full of things to see as we move along to enter the cockpit of the Millennium Falcon.

What a ride! Ed and Carrie were our Pilots, Grandma and Carrie were the Gunners and I was an Engineer. Fun! After the ride, we had to look though shops ... merchandise and food. The Market is wonderful! We even greeted Storm Troopers as they watched over us from above!

On the High from this Galaxy's Edge/Millennium Falcon experience, we re-entered the magical world of Walt Disney! We saw several characters which was great even at social distancing. They were out and about. We had fun with Cruella, greeted Winnie and Eeyore as they walked past us, stopped by Pixie Hollow to see Tinkerbell, entertained by Mary Poppins and Burt with the Pearly Band playing music, plus other characters we saw during our visit.

It's not a day at Disneyland without a ride through "A Small World"

We had to visit the Cheshire Cat, and, oh, Alice too!

Fantasyland's newly imagined Snow White's Enchanted Wish has added new dazzling sparkle

Taking a flight to Never-Neverland with Peter, Tink, Wendy, John and Michael

Star Tours takes us on another ride through the galaxy!

Ruby decided she really wanted to ride Space Mountain ... a real big step for her! And I am proud to say she did it like a trooper and also that Papaw survived another race around that star glittered dark sky of space!
It was great to go through The Haunted Mansion without it being decorated in The Night Before Christmas décor. Ed and Carrie have only seen it decorated in the Jack Skeleton motif their past couple of visits during the holidays.

Big Thunder Railroad roars though the red rock!

Let's all sing like the birdies do, tweet-tweet-tweet! The Amazing Tiki Room!

Ahoy Mates ... fun on The Pirates of the Caribbean!

A good time was had by the Kim Family in the Mad Hatter's Spinning Teacups!

Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters was fun for all!
Our last ride of the day was returning to Galaxy's Edge where we were called back for our virtual que to ride the astonishing Star Wars: Rise of The Resistance. Words cannot describe the superior technology that has gone into this ride. The waiting line walk to the entrance is filled with marvelous sites.

We all join the Resistance in an epic battle against the First Order. This is a trackless ride (magnetic???) and motion stimulator with a drop ride system. The audio-animatronics, projects and more are beyond belief. We really felt that we were actually submerged in this battle ... like being in a movie!

What a Magical Day we had! With crowd restrictions at 40% we were able to go on every ride we wanted and if we had wanted, we could have ridden the two or three that we didn't choose to ride. We have not ridden this many rides in one day since Eric and Carrie were about 10 years old. It was like being in the old Disneyland but with the new attractions. The hardest part of the day was the half-mile walk back to the parking structure after our over 13 hour visit and walking over 11 miles! We will be back at some point as we miss our annual passes. But it is nice not to have the crowds!
