We had to ask ourselves where has time gone? Today we celebrated our 48th wedding anniversary at Disney's California Adventures Park. In 2020 we had reservations at Carthay Circle to celebrate but Covid had the park closed two days before our anniversary. This is our happy place for anniversary dining and was great to be able to celebrate here once again!
We arrived a little before one o'clock. The trams from the parking structure finally are back in operation from their two year hiatus with the pandemic. This was our first trip to the park since they resumed operation. We had enjoyed the walk but by the end of the day of walking in the parks, I'll admit the trams are a real blessing and we are grateful that they are back!
We had a leisurely afternoon in California Adventures. We walked the Elias and Company store down main street from the entrance. Enjoying all of the new and different items as always at Disney!
Stopped to see Walt at Mickey while we continued our stroll!
And it was great to see Mickey out waving and greeting all the guests! Wait, did he say "Happy Anniversary"?
One of our trip highlights was enjoying the Mickey PhilharMagic 3-D show. We never tire of seeing this. So glad that Disney brought this from the Florida resort a few years ago to share with us here on the West Coast and find a permanent home here in California Adventures!
Always an enjoyable attraction is The Little Mermaid, Ariel's Undersea Adventure.
We took in the sites of Hollywood once again in this magical land.
Back by the Hyperion Theater we were entertained by some of the Disney characters doing their cooking routine. Some of the ones there were Chip & Dale, Daisey and Donald Duck and a oldie but goodie, Clarabelle the Cow! So much fun!
It's always fun to go into the Animation Building and just observe all of the screens as Disney and Pixar movie clips fill all of the many size screen. The world of Disney flashes by in all of these scenes.
Pixar Pier is always so bright and alive. It's a fun place to walk and just take in all of the pier's offerings. Jessie's Critter Carousel always makes us smile. On the Pier Stage, Joy was out greeting everyone with her happiness!!! Just a couple of the fun things at Pixar Pier for our day!
We entered the que to ride Toy Story Mania. It's such a fun ride that puts us to test. Waiting in line we reach the interactive Mr. Potato Head for a little line entertainment. Fun! Mary Anne was the better shot today on the ride ... scored double of my score!
As we walked though Cars Land we were amazed at the Radiator Springs Racers cactus plants that were in bloom. The hills of the ride are gorgeous all the time but these blooms made it even more spectacular.
These were some of the highlights that we did before our dinner reservation at the exquisite Carthay Circle Restaurant. Our last time was for our anniversary in 2019. At that time we would have never thought that a pandemic would come and shut down the park totally for almost two years two days before our anniversary in 2020.
Once inside, the grandeur sparkles. We checked in and waited to be taken upstairs to our table. We chose to walk up the magnificent staircase rather than take an elevator. It's always so pretty just to ascend those stairs!
Once on the second level, the hallway with nostalgic pictures greet us for the walk-through. One of our favorites is Walt Disney with Shirley Temple ... such a great picture!
We were seated on the balcony overlooking the park. From our seating we could see so many of the buildings and landscape of California Adventure Park. The faint sound of the hustle of the people below having fun was soothing to hear.
We started out with our dinner with warm Cheddar Parkerhouse Rolls and a glass of our once-a-year Dr. Loosen Riesling White Wine. For appetizers Mary Anne had Winter Endive and Apple Salad while I had Fried Mashed Potato Fritters. We both decided to order the Cedar Roasted Duck Breast with Yams, Dried Cranberries, Spinach, and Blood Oranges. Spectacular Dinner!
We even got to enjoy the Five and Dime Band playing and singing for a good portion of our meal time. They sounded spectacular and were great to listen to. It was a lovely experience!
A wonderful day enjoying each other and Disney California Adventures for our 48th!
