With our summer block-out dates over, we headed back to The Disneyland Resort for our first returning visit since June 1st! It was great to be back! We were parked in the Pixar Pals parking structure where we hopped on the tram to make our trip over to Disneyland!

And here we are at Disneyland!
We headed to the far end of the park to Star War's Galaxy's Edge to join the que for riding Rise of The Resistance. This attraction is a combined trackless dark ride, walk-through, motion simulator, and drop ride system that puts us into the middle of an altercation between the Resistance and the First Order. Featuring four interworking ride systems in conjunction with Audio-Animatronics, practical sets, projection mapping and screen-based media, Rise of the Resistance is one of the most complex and advanced attractions designed by Walt Disney Imagineering. The ride is well worth the wait!
After Rise of The Resistance, we strolled through Galaxy's Edge and entered Bear Country. We decided to get a churro and a bottle of water to hold us over until our mid-afternoon lunch reservation at The Blue Bayou Restaurant. We found a table at The Hungry Bear Restaurant to sit, crowd watch and enjoy our late morning snack!

We strolled past The Haunted Mansion where it is currently under renovations for the Halloween and Christmas Holidays converting to The Nightmare Before Christmas with Jack Skellington, Sally, Zero and the gang. Pirates of the Caribbean closed in June for several weeks for renovations. We lined up for seeing if we could spot the differences. There are quite a few, but very subtle in our opinion. Just a fantastic ride!

We had some time before our lunch reservation, so we jumped on the Disneyland Train for a ride around the park. It's aways great to see the park from this view, the hidden gems seen only from the train and the people wandering through the park and on the rides. It's always wonderful to board at the New Orleans Station where the fabulous train station replica is located, and the telegraph code is continuous. Not being versed in telegraph code I will rely on the Disney page which states that the telegraph message is just over a minute long and decoded it says: “To all who come to Disneyland, welcome. Here age relives fond memories of the past, and here youth may savor the challenge and promise of the future.”

The last time we ate at The Blue Bayou was Christmas Day 2018 with Carrie, Ed and Ruby. It just so happened that the day I made the park reservation there were also reservations available for the Blue Bayou. It's always a treat to eat here. The atmosphere is great and the food delicious! We both decided to have the chicken gumbo. I really don't know why it was called "chicken" gumbo as there were shrimp, sausage and chicken! We both really enjoyed our exquisite meals.

We went to It's a Small World to enjoy the original before it gets shut down to convert to the Christmas changeover. While in line, something happened on the ride and it was shut down. Well perhaps on our visit September 13th it will still be opened and we will ride it then.

Wandering through the park and Fantasyland, we crossed Sleeping Beauty's Castle drawbridge. Located under Sleeping Beauty's main castle tower is this gold spike marking the geographical center of Disneyland. This spike was placed in the ground when the park first opened. Of course, now with the additions to the park I don't know if it is the actual center anymore but still it is awesome!
We walked around some more and shopped the stores on Main Street. It was a delightful and extra special day with our Blue Bayou lunch. We decided to walk back to the parking structures through Downtown Disney. Currently there are Encanto inspired floral displays. The colorful displays tell the story of Isabela from Walt Disney's "Encanto". The vibrant displays are "silletas" which within the Columbian culture are a celebration of flowers which are typically built on wooden structures. Each has an honor associated with it. Examples include a COMPASS which resembles the water that connects Asia, the Pacific Islands and Hawaii; PRIDE, SHALOM, WIN, SALUTE, NAATV, PLUSE, ENABLED, VETERANS and more. The colors and various flowers are striking. We enjoyed the walk from one end to the other end of Downtown Disney!
We followed the path over to the Pixar Pals parking structure and to our car for the end of a lovely day. It was great to be back at Disneyland!
