2022 - December 1st - Thanksgiving & Christmas Holidays

The Fall/Winter Holidays were fun for us! We celebrated Thanksgiving and Christmas with the family. We have many great memories. There are not many pictures and not a lot of explanation for what we did. We will let these pictures speak for the memories that we gained.

For Thanksgiving, all of us celebrated together in St. George making it a Utah celebration. Carrie, Ed and Ruby drove over as well as we did. Jordan and her friend Mary flew in from Florida for a week's stay including being there for Thanksgiving. And as a complete surprise, Kendall flew in Thanksgiving Day! There ended up being plane problems which made Kendall miss the Thanksgiving dinner. We enjoyed her, Jordan and Mar now being with us and celebrating Thanksgiving and the family. We all had great times during our time together.

Jumping into December, we visited Disneyland a couple of times. We wanted to see the lights around the park so made a late afternoon to evening trip, which is something we rarely do. We enjoyed it all, especially the evening with lights. A few pictures:
We took in the Downtown Disney Christmas decorations too. We also went into the fabulous Grand Californian Hotel to see the annual gingerbread replica and buy a couple gingerbread men.
During our day trip to both Disneyland and California Adventures parks, while in line for the Jungle Cruise, we spotted this Jungle Cruise inspired Christmas Tree. At the Sleeping Beauty Castle, Aurora and Prince Charming continue to dance, even if only in brass statuette form!
Christmas morning, Ruby gave us a call at 5:45 saying she was up but mom had told her she couldn't wake them up until 6. We quickly got dressed and grabbed the Krispy Kream doughnuts we had bought for starting the day and took off to their house to watch Christmas begin!
After these morning festivities we came home to prepare the goose for roasting and the rest of the Christmas feast! Setting up the dinner table and doing final preparations. By the time Ed, Carrie and Ruby arrived around noon, the house was filled with the aromas of fabulous food. This was our first Christmas in the remodeled family room. Ruby did not forget the musical record player and piano ornaments by the Disney Village. Every year she lays on her stomach and plays their tunes.
And in Utah, Eric and family sent this picture of their Christmas dinner which also included the Facey Family tradition goose!!!
We were on the road by 9:15 Monday morning with the car loaded with Christmas gifts for Eric, Shirley and family. We had sent packages to Kendall and Jordan for their Christmas in Florida. We arrived for our three-day stay, returning home on Thursday.
Kendall, Jordan and Mar celebrated Christmas morning together in Kissimmee at the girl's apartment where they opened our boxes to them. Among other presents there was a Katella Deli Christmas cookie for each of them to choose their favorite and Jordan and Mar had Hot Chocolate balls with initial mugs. They had Christmas brunch at Aunt Pam and Uncle Fred's house where all had a fabulous time. Choosing to work Christmas Day they had fun at the parks as shown in the pictures there with Santa!

Our final night before heading back to California the next day, Thursday morning, we had a family meal in Ancestor Square.
