2009 - January 19th - Visiting the Queen Mary at the Long Beach Harbour

On Martin Luther King Holiday the 19th, we visited the Queen Mary in the Long Beach Harbor. All Southern California residents could go on the ship for free and we just couldn't pass up the opportunity. When we first moved to California, we would go to the Queen for dinner or drinks and dancing in the lounge. Over the years we have taken visitors down to see her and take tours, but this time was just a leisurely late morning stroll and self guided tour. Just imaging all of the various celebrities and notables that cruised the ocean in her history; plus the soldiers during the War. Magnificent!

WOW - I've been on the ship many many times but have never done the tour! We're going to have to do it too. What a fun day. :)
