Yee-Haw and Howdy Partner, today was Ella's 3rd Birthday Celebration in Jessie-style from Toy Story 2. It was a Rooten-Tooten Good Time for All. Ella was so excited for her party that she was up at 6 AM.
With Jessie and her horse Bulls-Eye being the center attraction for the party, Papaw had his theme designated for the cakes. We decided to use our three-tier stand and make three stand-alone cakes for the party. The large 12" cake was Chocolate by the request of the Birthday Girl, Ella. The decoration was to surround that cake in the black and white cowhide pattern of the chaps that Jessie wears on her legs. The top was covered in bright lemon-yellow sugar balls with a red trim, the colors associated with Jessie's outfit. Add the Jessie and Bulls-Eye characters and some red cowgirl hats and brown boots, with a little Happy Birthday, cake one was done!
The 10" cake was red velvet keeping in the color scheme. This one was frosted in the bright yellow icing, a white top, red hearts on top and sides, another version of Jessie & Bulls-Eye, a couple of red hats and boots with Ella 3 and the three candles. Cake #2 complete!
Grandma made lemon cake for the "yellow" part of the cake trio that we put in small star pans for mini-cakes or cupcakes. Each was decorated a little differently to make our third tier. In the center was a small Jessie & Bulls-Eye snow-globe elevated over the stars. Shirley had made some plates of red cowgirl hat cookies using red gum-drops in the center of the red iced cookies. All were great!
With decorations complete and waiting for the arrival of the party guests, the Facey clan and the Kim's jammed to the Wii Beatles' Rock Band, playing guitars and drums and singing the Beatles' songs. A great time for all.
Ella's dream of her cowgirl party was completed with genuine pony rides from friends of Eric and Shirley. Two ponies came to give rides around the neighborhood to all of the kids for a couple of hours. Ella was so excited and really liked the ponies! Be sure to open the album to see all of the kids on the ponies.
Then it was cake and ice cream time followed by gift opening. Grandma and Papaw gave Ella a Baby Jessie and Baby Woody doll … Ella loved them.
Open the complete album to see the entire day in pictures.
