2019 - October 6th - Celebrating Mary Anne at Fabulous 70

Another decade started, Mary Anne turns 70. So for the next 30 days we are both at the magical next decade age of 70! Cards were received in the mail and Birthday greetings came in over the internet. In the morning, a gift bag and card awaited the start of the day. This was to be a diversion gift so that she didn't know the real one was to come at dinner. There were seven dark chocolate bars from countries around the world plus a bag of Ghirardelli dark chocolate squares. My plan was a subtle 70, 7 (chocolate bars) + 0 (the roundish Ghiradelli bag) = 70!!! And the excuse that she would find something she really wanted on our Florida trip!
The Facey Grandkids send a great card:
Ruby's Minnie card was adorable
And Kendall sent a beautiful sea turtle card from Hawaii
All the cards and wishes were really appreciated
Mid-afternoon we had a Facetime call with Eric, Shirley, Mikayla, Ethan, Ella and Evan. That was great. Mary Anne opened the gifts that they sent so they could see her in real time! They made a unique key chain with Minnie on it and a grove cut out so that she can rest a cell phone in it rather than holding when talking for a long time. Unique, pretty and great! They also made a wall plaque with "Be Our Guest" that is wonderful. We met up with Carrie, Ed and Ruby at The Peking Wok for the birthday celebration dinner. Always good there! Ruby was anxious for Grandma to open her gifts. They bought her a Fitbit Versa, upgrading from her smaller version of the Fitbit. Ruby was my co-conspirator in hiding my gift from Grandma's sight. She came over while we were gone and retrieved it from the hiding space as we had planned. Now Mary Anne has an iPad 11" Pro tablet.
Carrie and Ed brought wonderful different flavored cupcakes from SusieCakes for all of us. The Peking Wok also brought out deep fried bananas with a candle inside of a rose made from turnip strips … absolutely gorgeous! To finish off the cupcakes, Carrie brought "70" sparklers … that gained the attention of all the patrons in the restaurant when they were lit! It was a great day and a great time had be all!
