To celebrate Ruby completing the Long Beach Lifeguard Ironguard Run and Swim, Ed and Carrie wanted to take her to Disney's California Adventure for the day as a special treat. We were fortunate enough to be asked to join them for this wonderful day. We were picked up at 7:20 and headed to the parks. We made very good driving time to the parking structure and then walking the half-mile to the front gate, we were in California Adventure Park slightly after 8 AM to begin our day.

We walked down Buena Vista street with the glorious shops on both sides of us. In the circle between Elias & Company and the Carthay Circle Restaurant we stopped to take pictures with the Walt and Mickey statue to document the day.

We also ran into Pluto and Goofy welcoming the crowd!
On our way to our first adventure, the Avengers' Campus, we approached the center piece of California Adventures, the overseeing Grizzly Peak Mountain.
As we approach the Avengers' Campus, the Spider-Bot
Interactive Remote Control Bot are featured. They have 360-degree movement, battle game play,
a “projector shield,” light-up eyes, crouching ability, and fun sounds. These mystical Marvel creatures are only available in California Adventure.
Avengers
Campus, which is short for Avengers Centralized Assembly Mobilized to Prepare,
Unite, and Safeguard, is a Marvel Cinematic Universe now at California Adventures.
The movies are brought to reality with this Shawarma food cart specialty foods.

We embark on an
action-packed adventure alongside the amazing Spider-Man! When Peter Parker’s
helpful but otherwise buggy Spider-Bots get stuck in replication mode and
escape from a WEB Workshop, Spider-Man must stop the rampaging robots before
they wreak total techno-havoc across Avengers Campus. Problem is, they’re
rapidly leveling up and becoming tough to beat! Our task on this interactive ride is to Hop aboard a WEB Slinger vehicle and
help weave a frenzied web to trap these friendly neighborhood sidekicks in true
Spidey style. It’s up to us to unleash our inner hero and save the Campus
from complete chaos.
The gleaming
Quinjet that rests high atop the Avengers Headquarters building is bound to
attract attention—maybe even some unwanted attention. As they scan
the horizon for potential threats, The Avengers stand poised to greet new
recruits. We were on the look-out for Super Heroes such as: Iron Man, Black Panther, Captain Marvel, Black Widow, Thor, Doctor Strange, Ant-Man, The Wasp, or The Guardians
of the Galaxy. We first spotted Captain Marvel on the balcony of the Avengers Headquarters!

Another Super Hero appeared ... The Black Panther!
Pym
Technologies was a technology and scientific research company which specializes
in nanotechnology and human enhancements, as well as molecular and atomic
studies. What they do with food is extraordinary! Look at that tiny sunny-side-up egg and that gigantic pretzel!

We also caught Spiderman slinging himself in air from high aloft over The Avengers Campus!

Suddenly from the Avengers Headquarters, General Okoye of the Dora Milaja tribe came out to entertain us. The Dora Milaje are a troop of Wakandan Women special forces that protect the Black Panther. A group of tribal women who served as bodyguards to King
T’Chaka during his reign as the Black Panther and, subsequently, T’Challa. General Okoye performed a dazzling display of
spear-wielding strength, warrior-like martial arts, and tribal dancing. This
fierce woman is a formidable sight in her traditional uniform.
Tony Stark invited Doctor Strange to the
Avengers Campus to enlighten recruits about the mystic arts. Doctor Strange
suspended the area’s cloaking spells and revealed the Ancient Sanctum to the
world. Come, discover for yourself what has been hidden for centuries. Here is
housed the amazing Orb of Cagliostro.
Ruby's souvenir
Iron Man’s Infinity Gauntlet glove is the thrill of the Avengers Campus! The
Marvel souvenir collectible with six Infinity Stones looks similar to the Iron
Gauntlet used by Hulk to undo Thanos’ snap in “Avengers: Endgame.” The Space
Stone (blue), Reality Stone (red), Power Stone (purple), Mind Stone (yellow),
Time Stone (green) and Soul Stone (orange) on the Iron Man Infinity Gauntlet
light up.

Our final adventure for The Avengers Campus was riding Guardians of The Galaxy - Mission Breakout. The line to board the ride offers much to see for everyone who has experienced the Marvel movies.

One sign that you are getting close to Grizzly Peak is this Classic Rambler at the Coca-Cola stand adjacent to Soarin' Around The World.

Soarin' Around The World is such a fun ride lifting us up into the sky to fly over familiar but never-been-to places such as The Matterhorn, The Sydney
Australia Opera House, Neuschwanstein Castle in Bavaria, Germany, Mount
Kilimanjaro in Tanzania, The Great Wall of China, The Great Pyramids in Egypt,
The Taj Mahal, Monument Valley, Arizona, The Eiffel Tower in Paris and more!
Continuing through Grizzly Peak Recreation area, there are Grizzly River Run, and Redwood Creek Challenge Trail ... a fun play area recreation area.
We even ran across Nick from Zootopia ...

A mid-afternoon stop at Ghirardelli's Chocolate Shoppe was a pleasant refresher with ice cream sundaes with that famous chocolate!
Miss Minutes is an animated anthropomorphic clock and the mascot of the Time Variance Authority, AKA the body tasked with keeping the universe's timeline in check, in the Loki Marvel TV show. The Kims were dressed to meet her at this set-aside photo opportunity!

More Photo Set-Ups with Avengers and Marvel

While in Hollywood Land we rode Monsters Inc., Mike and Sully to the Rescue!

We headed next door to see Mickey's PhilharMagic. This spectacular 3D fantasy adventure
features many beloved Disney characters! Donald decides to try his hand at
conducting the concert with Mickey’s conductor’s baton and Sorcerer’s Hat, when
he’s suddenly plunged into a 3D dream world of classic Disney animated musical
sequences. Iconic Songs in Unforgettable Settings begin with such as “Be Our
Guest” from Beauty and the Beast, “Part of Your World” from The Little Mermaid,
“I Just Can’t Wait To Be King” from The Lion King, “You Can Fly” from Peter
Pan—plus many more including the new Pixar addition from Coco!

Cars Land is such a great replication of the animated film with all details of the town of Radiator Springs. We headed down Route 66 to the "Stanley Our Founder" Monument in front of the firehouse and adjacent to Flo's Café on our way to the Radiator Springs Racers ride.

Cars Land also has the Tow Mater's ride

On the way over to Pixar Pier we marveled at the Silly Symphony Swings as they circled the air. No one in our group was up to riding these today!

Ruby, Carrie & Ed took a spin on the Silver Zephyr Rockets. Fun!!!

In the nostalgia vain, Ruby and Papaw had to ride the Jumpin' Jellyfish Parachute ride. It was one that was never missed when we came to this park together!
Over in Pixar Pier we were anxious to ride the fun little Inside Out Emotional Whirlwind Ride. The colorful presentation takes everyone into the animated movie.
A fun time was had by all at The Toy Story Midway Mania Shooting Gallery

Jessie's Critter Carousel is a unique figured merry-go-round

Ed and Carrie took a spin on the Incredicoaster for a stretchy great time!

We had a photo opportunity with Luca from the Disney+ Programming.
Another photo op was at the Wanda Vision Living Room Set
There are no full parades yet, but the Toys come out for short run showings!

That pretty much wraps up our almost 13 hour day at California Adventures. We are so happy that Carrie, Ed and Ruby included us in on this wonderful day. It was so much fun ... well except for that walk back to the parking structure!!!
