We had a fun family day seeing different areas of the North Shore. We all went to the Dole Pineapple Plantation in the town of Wahiawa. It is a fantastic place to explore. We signed up for the Pineapple Express Train Ride to see the various fields of the plantation.
As we waited for the train we couldn't help but marvel at the beginning growth pineapple plants in the decorative gardens.
The pineapple fields are in various stages of growth from empty fields resting with new nutrition, infants with no fruit to full growth plants ready for harvest.
Not only does the plantation grow pineapples, they also have Coconut Trees
and Banana trees.
Another interesting stop was at Turtle Beach. Officially this is Kawela Bay in Lanialeu Beach but everyone refers to it as Turtle Beach. Many Sea Turtles bask in the sun. There are volunteers that stay 24/7 to protect the turtles and answer any questions. We arrived when the sun was setting but one turtle did stay for us to see! If on the island of Oahu, Turtle Beach is a must stop and see!
And the sunset at Turtle Beach was spectacular!
