These are a few of the places we visited with Pam and Valerie during their visit with us. We had a great time being together and taking in some local sites. After our visit to The Secret Garden and lunch at The Park Bench, we stopped by Roger's Gardens in Newport Beach. The gift shop always has spectacular items that are so unique. I didn't take any pictures inside but just browsed and took it all in! Entering the large gift shop we are greeted with oversize hanging flowerpots! As Pam said, she had never seen any this big anywhere!

Leaving the gift store (too large to be called a shop!), hanging from the trees are these unique succulent baskets that sort of look like they can be used for nesting by the local bird population in your yard.
We wandered around much of the gardens and took in so much color in bloom. It is just gorgeous no matter what time of year that you go! There were all types of garden flowers and more oversize hanging baskets!
On the Thursday we had tickets to see the stage production of Jersey Boys at the La Mirada Theater of the Performing Arts. Before the theater we tried a new-to-us Mexican eatery, The Cabo Taco Baja Grill also in La Mirada. It was really busy and we soon found out why --- the food is delicious! We found out that it is owned by the lovely couple that seated us and served our table. They also have three teenage children that work at the Grill. All of the sauces and most of the desserts are made fresh by the owner wife. The salsa is to die for!

Jersey Boys was a hit ... the acting and singing were outstanding and right-on perfection. We had seen it twice, years ago in New York and later at the Hollywood Pantages. This was the first time for Pam and Valerie and they left ecstatic that they got to see it! A great time by all!
We took a little drive through Long Beach and over some long bridges by the port to San Pedro on the 10th to see The Point Fermin Lighthouse and Park. It is such an interesting structure as it looks like a house, not the tall cylindrical lighthouses that come to mind. It has been there for 150 years. It was a little windy, but we enjoyed the time here anyway! The gardens next to the house have small scale model scenes that are just lovely!
Leaving the park, we drove up the hill to The Korean Friendship Bell. Standing at the highest point on the hill, the Korean Friendship Bell overlooks Fermin Park and Lighthouse and the Pacific Ocean. The history of the bell is so interesting. This plaque tells the story!
The Bell has intricate carving details that really tell a story. I took a closeup trying to capture tat detail.
