2017 - April 15th - Celebrating Easter

Celebrating Easter in 2017 was a fun event for all of us. We missed having Kendall with us, but know she had a great day with friends and family at school in Hawaii.

For the past three years, the family had chosen to celebrate with a dinner at Eric & Shirley's house. But this year, the vote was to revert to a Saturday dinner out as we had done for a few years before, followed with dessert and baskets at Papaw & Grandma's afterwards. We met in Long Beach at The Roadhouse Grill for some delicious barbecue entries. We decorated the house with our collection of Easter decorations ...

The kids were excited with the candy, popcorn and other treats in their baskets. The added surprise this year is Papaw and Grandma are taking all seven of the grand children to Sequoia National Park in July. None have ever been there before. We are staying in our favorite Three Rivers accommodation, The Sierra Lodge, where we have stayed on two previous trips. With a pool to relax and play in when not in the Park, we'll have a great time in this little town just 10 minutes out of Sequoia. And then to end this awesome trip, we will all go to Disney's Paradise Pier Hotel in Anaheim for Breakfast with Mickey and Friends before taking everyone back home. We are really looking forward to this summer excursion with all of the Grandkids ... no parents! So the parents will have a few get-away-days of their own!!!
