2020 - December 20th - Christmas Celebration with Ed, Carrie and Ruby

Once again, 2020 brought us to change. This year for Covid social distancing and job obligations, our entire family could not celebrate together in person. With our small family bubble, Carrie, Ed and Ruby joined us on Sunday afternoon at three for our family Christmas. These words will live on in infamy.
We gathered in our family room for gift exchange and opening.
All of the gifts were under the tree. It's always exciting for us, but through the eyes of a child is always the most marvelous thing. Ruby was ready and excited as could be. Watching is much more fun than taking pictures, so we will always have our memories.
I now have a new Christmas sweat shirt! Love it! Thanks to all ... Carrie, Ed and Ruby!
After opening the gifts, it was Christmas dinner time. As there was only five of us, we decided to roast a duck for the meal. If Mary Anne had ever done one before it was so long ago that neither of us can recall it! We were able to use our Christmas dinnerware making this even more festive!
Our meal was fabulous as it is anytime that Mary Anne cooks! We had duck, Mary Anne's famous dressing, wild rice, baked potatoes, rolls, green beans and a relish dish. Everyone was so pleased and full ... yummy!!!
And Christmas dinner is never complete without the traditional ribbon salad that has been here for forty-seven years!
We had a delightful celebration and time together. Here's to 2021 when we can all celebrate together as a family  ....  hopefully!
