2021 - October 6th - Celebrating Mary Anne's Birthday at Disneyland!

Happy 72nd Birthday to the eternally young septuagenarian Mary Anne! We were taken to dinner on Tuesday night by Carrie, Ed and Ruby. The meal at The Lazy Dog was wonderful. Mom received a ceramic taco set and this special cake from them. Eric, Shirley and family send a beautify bouquet of flowers too!
We are celebrating our birthdays this year at Disneyland! With the year that we have all been through, it is great to escape and enter that world of Fantasy for awhile. We are happy that Disney brought back annual passes now called Magic Keys ... we once again can go pretty much when we please. Today was Mary Anne's Birthday Day. The park is decorated for Halloween as we approached the main entrance.
It is always fun to see the giant Mickey Pumpkin Head greet us at this time of the year. Right away we saw Mickey and Minnie next to the hat store and the Mr. Lincoln Theatre. We took the photo opportunity with Minnie to begin Mary Anne's celebration day!
Main Street is decorated with hundreds of pumpkins ... always a delight. We walked, gawked and window-shopped as we made our way down the street.

We first traveled to the Haunted Manion all decked out for the season in The Nightmare Before Christmas attire of Jack Skeleton and Sally. ... Jack and Sally were even on the balcony greeting us to enjoy!

We headed over to The Red Rose Tavern in Fantasyland to get a mid-morning snack. We were delighted with the Halloween specially decorated Gray Stuff and we also added a Mickey Bat sugar cookie for our indulgence!
Being fully satisfied in our tummies, we took a spin over to Never-Neverland with Peter, Tinker Bell, Wendy, John and Michael enjoying the ride in our flying sailing ship!

Is it ever really a visit to Disneyland without riding It's A Small World? Absolutely not!
Strolling the park we went over to Critter Country. We always enjoy looking through the Pooh Corner Gift Store and some of the amazing treats that they come up with. Today the outstanding eye catchers to us were the Jack Skeleton Cake Balls and the Ghostly Screaming Green Chocolate covered Red Apples!
In Toontown we saw many characters, not the least being Minnie at her cute little house. Construction is going on for the Mickey Runaway Railroad Ride with some of the current façade just in viewing sight, not in touchable reach. But there was plenty to take in. It's a fun land to go through that we don't visit too often. Chip and Dale were on hand to entertain us here in Toontown too!
We decide to enjoy the Disneyland Train Ride taking in the western diorama of The Grand Canyon and the Primeval World with dinosaurs!  We would round the park over to New Orleans Square in time to window shop the stores and arrive for our lunch reservation at Café Orleans.

Café Orleans was our reservation today. Located by New Orleans Square with a view of the Rivers of America, we were delighted to eat here for the first time in all of these Disney years. Both of us chose to have a Monte Cristo Sandwich with Pomme Frites (the Belgian version of fries where here at Disneyland they are sprinkled with Parmesan cheese, garlic, Cajun seasoning, parsley and salt). They were so good!!!!
We ended our day by walking over to Frontierland to see the annual Halloween Tree on the thoroughfare in front of the Crockett & Russel Hat Company and Silver Spur Supply, next to the Golden Horseshoe Saloon. Author and Disney attraction developer Ray Bradbury’s novel “The Halloween Tree” tells the story of a group of trick-or-treaters who learn about the origins of Halloween while on an adventure to find their missing friend. A plaque at the base of the tree commemorates the night of its dedication: “On the night of Halloween 2007, this stately oak officially became ‘The Halloween Tree,’ realizing famed author Ray Bradbury’s dream of having his symbol for the holiday become a part of Disneyland.”
Two weeks ago wen we were at the park, we had this exclusive for Key Holders photo taken with Mr. Toad. With these new passes called Magic Keys, the parks are offering freebies like this for the members. Fun, fun, fun!
